The month of June is a time when people around the globe commit to building a more sustainable future and raising awareness about the worsening climate crisis. Equity Watch Initiative EQUITY WATCH INITIATIVE [E-WIN] with the support of 숲과나눔 아이디어랩(Korea SHE Foundation IdeaLab) took her climate education program to Community Secondary School, Umudu, in Udenu LGA, Enugu state to educate and empower young people especially girls in the rural community to join the global conversation on climate change and lead climate actions. It was an amazing outreach. We took time to teach them about climate change, how each of us contribute to the changing climate, the impact of climate change and some of the mitigation and adaptation measures. The climax of the event was the planting of 20 fruit trees in the school. It was nice watching the students committing to protect the planet. We are grateful to the school authority for providing an enabling platform for the program and to Korea She Foundation for her support.
