What do we do?
E-WIN exists to empower women and girls, champion gender-equitable development and promote the rights of women and girls in rural communities in Nigeria. We generate evidence to promote gender equality and end all forms of gender-based violence (GBV) and abuse. We train women and girls in Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) to prevent and respond to abuse and harassment. We expand opportunities for women’s voices through political participation and leadership and assist in the education, social, economic and political development of women and girls through a wide range of services: training (seminars and workshops), research, advocacy and intra-familial conflict resolution. We provide sexual and reproductive health information and service to enhance sexual and reproductive health and right. We are committed to reducing period poverty and stigma associated with menstruation and work to promotes climate justice for environmental sustainability.
OUR OBJECTIVES ARE TO:
- Generate evidence to promote gender equality and end all forms of gender-based violence and abuse.
- Improve women and girls’ access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, including information and services.
- Promote women’s and girls’ education and rights.
- Expand opportunities for women’s voices, political participation and leadership
- Strengthen women and girls’ capacity to engage in sustainable economic and livelihood activities.
- Promote climate justice for environmental sustainability
- Partner with government, community groups and the private sectors to foster an inclusive, sustainable and secure society.
