We took our climate education and tree planting project to Community secondary school Imilike in Udenu LGA, Enugu state. Out of about 500 students we interfaced with, not up to 10 of them have heard about climate change. Driving climate and environmental sustainability education at the local level would be key to igniting local actions to address the global climate crisis. We would continue to lead climate education in Nsukka, Enugu and Nigeria at large. In today”a program, we took time to teach the students about climate change, how anthropogenic activities contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer, the impact of climate change on human health, women and girls sexual and reproductive health, food security, among others. The need to take climate actions was emphasized and the students following the formation of climate club in the school resolved and as well made commitment to Protect our Planet.
