There has been a global emphasis on the need to educate, empower and engage all stakeholders including young people, women and children on climate change and climate actions.
Today, climate education is taught in many parts of the globe. To build a sustainable future, drive inspiring actions and practices. To develop influential skills at the social and personal levels at the grass root, it is imperative not only to learn to understand climate change but also to change one’s own behavior and actions. Thus, addressing climate change issues require collaboration between active citizens including young people especially girls because advancing gender equality in the context of the climate crisis and disaster risk reduction is one of the greatest global challenges. Today, we took our climate education and tree planting project to Ibagwa Girls Secondary School in Udenu LGA. It was amazing to the girls excitedly making a commitment to take climate action. The climax of the event was the formation of the climate club in the school. We thank 숲과나눔 아이디어랩(Korea SHE Foundation IdeaLab) for the support.
