EQUITY FOR ALL
The activity was organized as part of the broader aim of Equity Watch Initiative which is promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls.
The program started with an Introduction of the Non-Governmental Organization and its Founding Director, Dr. Chiemezie Atama by the Principal of the School, Mr I.A.C. Okafor.
The Director introduced her team and the organization (Equity Watch Initiative) along with their mission and vision.
According to the Key note speaker Dr Chiemezie Atama, the campaign was necessitated by the spike in cases of sexual harassment, abuse and rape as evident in daily media reports and report by the Inspector General of Police. She made some conceptual clarifications about sexual harassment, abuse and rape.
She also spoke on the following:
- Victims of sexual harassment, abuse and rape
- Perpetrators of sexual harassment, abuse and rape
- Where can sexual harassment, abuse and rape occur?
- What we must do
- What we must not.
- The role of the school authority in stopping sexual harassment and abuse.
