Educational Support for Indigent Students
Community Secondary School, Umundu, Udenu LGA
Nigeria is a country with immense potential but faces the complex realities of poverty and educational disparities. Millions of children, particularly in rural areas, face significant barriers to accessing quality education. About 48% of Nigerians live below the national poverty line, making affording school fees and materials a constant struggle for many families. This in addition to gender disparity, rural-urban divide, conflict and displacements makes it difficult for the girl child to obtain education. Against this backdrop, Equity Watch Initiative with the support of Girls Opportunity Alliance emerges as a beacon of support. Providing scholarships and educational support, trainings and mentorship for girls in rural communities and advocating for policy change and equitable access to education.
Here are some highlights of the event.
