We are excited to announce E-WIN Eco-Stove for sustainability initiative that isc aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of using the traditional methods of cooking (firewood) and promoting the use of eco-friendly stoves for sustainability. This initiative is part of our commitment to empowering women and protecting our planet. Women and girls often bear the responsibility of collecting firewood which exposes them to various risks such as physical injuries, respiratory problems, sexual harassment and assaults. Besides, traditional cooking methods contribute to deforestation and air pollution. By providing eco stoves, we are taking a step to reduce these harmful effects and improve the overall health and well-being of all in our community. We are grateful to Dr. (Engr) Ikechukwu Okarfor Director National Center for Energy Research and Development, University of Nigeria, Nsukka for collaborating with us. His support and our little contribution led to the distribution of 20 eco stoves to 20 women from different communities in Nsukka zone. He did not only support financially but took his time to sensitize the women on the danger of open fire and smoke, and took them to National Stove Eligibility Laboratory, University of Nigeria, Nsukka for them to see and appreciate more. We are also grateful to Sammaria Hopkins (Maryland, USA) for providing transportation and light refreshment for the participants.
We invite you to join us in this important cause.
Together we can create a safer environment for women and girls and a healthier planet for all.
