USING THE RADIO TO END GENDER BASED VIOLENCE NOVEMBER 2026

UNiTE to end digital violence against all women and girls

As part of our Girls Opportunity Alliance project, we kick started our quarterly phone-in radio program today. This was targeted as it comes at time when the United Nations is celebrating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the 16 days of activism to end gender based violence (GBV). We leveraged the radio program to amplify our message for the 16 days of activism against GBV, with this year’s global theme: UNiTE to end digital violence against all women and girls.
During the live programme, our team revealed the growing rates of child marriage, teenage pregnancy, the gender disparity in school drop out, the exclusion of women in governance and the growing trend of GBV in digital spaces, from cyber-bullying and deepfake abuse to digital stalking.
We also highlighted why eliminating online violence is central to protecting girls’ education, safety, dignity, and leadership.
E-WIN remains committed to raising awareness, educating communities, advocating for strong protective laws, and empowering women and girls with the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe.
Thank you to our amazing hosts and listeners who engaged, asked questions, and shared their experiences. Together, we are building a future where every woman and girl can learn, lead, and live free from violence whether online or offline.
