SEX EDUCTION FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Today, Equity Watch Initiative engaged undergraduate students at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, on the critical topic of sex education. We discussed the importance of safe sex and provided students with the tools to protect themselves against STIs and HIV/AIDS, distributing 288 condoms and 100 lubricants.

Our outreach comes at a crucial time when the withdrawal of international aid, such as USAID, has significant implications for adolescent sexual health in Nigeria and across Africa. These funds were vital for providing access to sexual and reproductive health services and essential resources like contraceptives and HIV testing kits. Their absence creates a gap that can put young people at increased risk.

At Equity Watch Initiative , we’re dedicated to ensuring that young people have the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health. We believe that comprehensive, non-judgmental education is the key to a healthier and safer future.

Thank you to the students of UNN for their active participation and to our incredible volunteers. Let’s continue this conversation and work together for a future where every young person can access the care and education they deserve.
